For any pain following surgery, the doctor will prescribe a medication. Beyond that, the patient will have to wear a surgical bra to hold the breasts in place during healing and recovery. Within the first few weeks of surgery, the swelling and bruising will begin to subside, although each breast may heal at a different rate causing the breasts to temporarily appear mismatched and the nipples uneven. Please be patient. It will take up to six months for the contour and symmetry to become fully apparent, at which time you can look forward to having breasts any woman would envy.
