HCG Diet FAQ's

HCG Injections vs. Homeopathic or HCG Drops

HCG injections are highly recommended and more effective. Homeopathic HCG is not real HCG; it is a diluted version of it to take orally. Authentic HCG must be prescribed and supervised by a licensed medical practitioner.

How does the medical HCG Diet work?

When HCG is injected in small amounts into the body in conjunction with a very low calorie diet it triggers the Hypothalamus (a part of the brain that controls the nervous system and endocrine system) to used stored fat as its main energy source. This allows your body to burn fat that is converted into 2000 calories a day where the vitamins, minerals and proteins are given back to your body from that fat tissue via the blood stream. This process reprograms your body and metabolic rate to maintain the weight loss post diet.

Is it safe for men?

Yes. Both men and women contain HCG in their bodies; this hormone just shows higher levels in pregnant women. Men will not have any side effects, will not be feminized or experience any changes in sex on this medical weight loss program.

How much weight can I lose?

Studies have shown dieters losing at the most three pounds plus per day and at the least half a pound per day. For faster weight loss include more vegetables in each meal and increase your fiber intake. You must drink lots of water; it is a key essential to this diet.

Is it safe to lose up to 3 pounds plus a day?

Yes, while on the HCG diet it is safe to lose that much weight on a daily basis. By following the HCG diet protocol the weight loss would come directly from abnormal fat tissues that your body would only use in an emergency and not your muscles that contain those much needed vitamins and minerals essential for good health. For this reason is why you lose all the weight, eat so little and still feel good without any negative health risks.

Why a low calorie diet?

The HCG will flood your body with calories by mobilizing the abnormal fat out of that storage location and releasing it into the body while consuming a low calorie diet.

Won't I be hungry with only 500 calories?

It is common to feel hungry the first week of the program. The first two days you will eat as much as you can to fill your body with fat and calories to help you get through those first few days on the VLCD. The hunger will pass as the HCG starts reprogramming your hypothalamus to adjust your metabolic rate and flooding your body with calories from the fat being released, that even the tiniest portions will be satisfying.

Can't I lose weight just on a low calorie diet?

You would lose weight but you will burn up the structural fat needed for your muscles. HCG is what confuses the body to use your stored abnormal fat tissues that are in the body as a protective mechanism in order to prevent death and starvation.

What do I need to do to start the HCG diet?

Prior to your treatment, you must come in for a complimentary consultation with a Danik medical practitioner to perform a general health assessment to be sure you are a candidate for the HCG diet.

When do I start the HCG diet?

Men can start on the HCG diet immediately after their lab results are cleared to start. It is recommended that women start after their menstrual period and must stop the HCG during their menstrual period but continue the very low calorie diet to maintain their weight loss if not it will delay your period and you will have a plateau around that time.

Are there any side effects?

Side effects have rarely been reported while using HCG for weight loss. In some rare cases, people have reported some nausea, fatigue and irritation or swelling to injection site. In some cases, patients have reported better sleep, health, and increased libido.

Can I "cheat" on the HCG diet?

No. You must follow precisely what your practitioner recommends for your diet program not to reverse the effects of the HCG injections and affect your weight loss goals.

Are the injections painful?

Each patient's tolerance to pain varies. The needle used to administer the HCG is very fine and relatively painless.

What is a plateau?

Some patients have reported a plateau (no changes in weight) while on the diet. Usually it will happen for women around their menstrual period due to fluid retention, possible pregnancy, not following VLCD, etc. If you experience this while on the program you should let your medical practitioner know and remind them during your follow up visit and follow the “Apple Day” diet.

Will I gain weight after the HCG program?

You may gain minimal weight due to the increase in your calorie intake. Once you are done with the treatment you must continue to follow the low calorie protocol a few days before resuming to a regular calorie diet. Your body will feel different and you will be accustomed to eating healthier and feeling good. This is a great opportunity to maintain and use what you’ve learned to keep the weight off and adopt a healthy lifestyle. Since your hypothalamus is reset, your metabolic rate will have changed and you are able to eat moderately without the need to overeat and minimal exercise will be sufficient to maintaining your new body.
